What are the course schedules like?
Classes start in the evening so that working people can easily participate. Each course has 15 classes per 2 months.
Who are the instructors?
Researchers who belong to the National Institute of Informatics, university teachers, and researchers from participant companies.
Do we only need to submit a transcript for the final academic record?
Please provide all the transcripts from bachelorfs degree on.
What are the classes like?
If you view the courses on our homepage (http://topse.jp/en/), you can acquire the 2010 curriculum outline and the course syllabuses being presently held. The course structure is fundamentally based on practices, and you can learn practical know-how, by doing thorough preparation and revision.
How long does it take to complete a course?
It normally takes about 1 year to graduate.
Is there an age limit?
No.
Where is the venue for the courses?
It is the National Institute of Informatics in Tokyo.
Can I get a degree when I complete the training program?
Degrees or credits are not provided. But a diploma will be issued.
How much is the school fee?
The annual fee is 541,000 yen. You will become a commissioned researcher at the National Institute of Informatics, and need to sign a contract separately.
Can I privately participate in a course?
Yes, it is possible. But there is a different procedure for private applications. Please enquire the TOP SE secretariat.
Are lectures delivered in English?
No, almost all of them are in Japanese.
